I love the design of Vivienne’s sleeping area so much because it says so much about her character. In a corner, she has a portrait of Empress Celene and a golden lion which demonstrates her relationship with Orlais. In addition, she has stacks of books, papers scattered everywhere, which indicates she is someone who is always reading, learning, and studying in her spare time. She also has flowers, demonstrating she likes living in a decorative environment but more importantly has the discipline to put in consistent effort to do so. And then, among all those things that make sense for her character, there is … a lute?
I always found it kind of weird how Vivienne has a lute because no one ever gives any indication that she knows how to play. Where would she learn? She was never a bard and as far as I know Circles don’t have tons of musical instruments lying around. Then I remembered …
